Historical map data

Eradle’s historical borders are derived from historical-basemaps by André Ourednik and contributors, licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3. As that licence requires, the modified files are offered here under the same licence, together with the script that produced them.

Changes made by Eradle

Converted to TopoJSON, Antarctica removed, small unnamed islands joined to the nearest named shape, larger unnamed areas marked “Unclaimed”, and shapes simplified for display at world scale (2026).
